Andrey Makarevich: biography
Andrei Makarevich was born on December 11, 1953
The musician’s father, Vadim Grigorievich, was a participant in the Second World War, worked as an architect, and had Belarusian-Polish roots. Mom, Nina Shmuilovich, worked as a doctor; she is Jewish by nationality.
Childhood and youth, family, education
At the time of the birth of their son, the Makarevich family lived in a communal apartment, in an old house that previously belonged to the Volkonsky princes. Andrei's early years were spent there. His father instilled a love for music in the boy. He enrolled his son in a music school. But after some time, Makarevich Jr. got tired of scales and abandoned his studies.
Parents were able to place Andrei in a prestigious school with in-depth study of the English language. Among the musician's youthful hobbies is an etymological collection of dried butterflies. Periodically, the boy brought unusual pets (snakes) from the street.
Return to music occurred in 1965
It all started with the songs of Vladimir Vysotsky and Bulat Okudzhava, which Makarevich could listen to for hours.
Andrei himself began to write poetry and music for them. The first listeners to the essays were the children's peers in the yard. It was then that Makarevich had the idea of putting together a musical group that would perform his songs.

Musical career, group “Time Machine”
When the opportunity arose in the USSR to get acquainted with the work of the Beatles, Andrei firmly decided to become a popular musician. Not a day passed that he did not listen to the songs of the legendary group. In 1968, Makarevich put together his first ensemble, “The Kids”. A year later, together with his friends, Andrei founded another group, called “Time Machine”. He was the leader of this team.
After school, Makarevich became a student at the architectural institute, but music remained the main thing in his life. In his fourth year, the young man was expelled from the university. The leadership veiled the reason, but he himself knew that party officials did not like his passion for rock music. Later, Andrei was reinstated at the institute. I completed my studies in the evening department.
After being expelled from the university, Makarevich went to work at the Institute of Theater Design. Here he worked until the management of Rosconcert signed an agreement with his team.
The group “Time Machine” was legalized and could tour the country
Andrey threw himself into his work. Public recognition inspired Makarevich to write such hits:
- “While the candle burns”;
- "Turn";
- “He was older than her”;
- "Puppets";
- "For those at sea."
In 1985, the first album of the Variety group was released, and a year later the disc “In Good Hour” was released.
In 1993, the album “The Best Songs of the Time Machine” was released, which included compositions created by the group from 1979 to 1985
Makarevich also published two biographical books and a collection of poems. In May 1996, Makarevich performed at the Stage Theater, which was broadcast on the RTR channel. Five years later, the musician was able to realize his dream by creating a new group, the Creole Dance Orchestra. It included his comrades from rock bands who experimented by creating compositions based on American jazz music.
In 2021, the Time Machine group celebrated its half-century anniversary and went on a tour of Russian cities.
TV career
At the peak of his popularity, Makarevich was invited to appear on TV
In 1993, he became the host of the culinary program “Smak”. Popular artists and other media personalities prepared their signature dishes in the studio kitchen together with Andrei Vadimovich. A few years later the program was closed. In a new format called “The Smack of Andrey Makarevich” it began appearing in 2021 on the YouTube channel.

In the first part of the project “Old Songs about the Main Thing,” Makarevich played a beekeeper, and in the second he played the cook Makaronych. The popular TV presenter was repeatedly invited to show off his musical knowledge in the TV game “Guess the Melody.” Three times he came to the studio of the game “One Hundred to One”. Makarevich showed that he can work in a team for results. Andrei Vadimovich more than once became a member of the jury of the KVN Major League.
Where does he live?
Makarevich lives in a three-story mansion in the village of Pavlovo near Moscow.
There are many interesting things in the house, since the artist has been collecting since childhood. Various musical instruments are hung on the walls; Makarevich also collects antique dishes, dolls, and beads.
In the Makarevich mansion there is a separate room in which an enclosure is equipped for a boa constrictor named Brunnhilde.
Marriage with Alla Golubkina and son Ivan
In 1986, Andrei Makarevich’s second wife was cosmetologist Alla Golubkina, who had previously lived with the founder of Resurrection, Alexei Romanov. A year after the wedding, she gave birth to her husband’s son Vanya, whose godfather the boy’s parents chose Mashina keyboardist Alexander Zaitsev. This marriage quickly fell apart.

Makarevich’s son became a drummer as a child, and then entered the School-Studio of the Moscow Art Academic Theater, where his teacher was Konstantin Raikin.
Later he studied at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts and began composing music for performances. In “House of the Sun” by Garik Sukachev, he got the role of a young father.

Makarevich’s illegitimate daughter Dana contacted her father when she was already 20 years old. The artist, who was accustomed to the fact that his daughters and sons were constantly filled with all sorts of swindlers and crazy people, for some reason immediately believed the girl.

And when he met Dana, doubts that she was his family disappeared: the girl was very similar to her famous father. Makarevich did not find out why Dana decided to start communicating with her father after so many years, but was incredibly glad to meet her.
Dana's mother, with whom the musician had an affair when he was young, left for the USA and set up a life there.
Dana was raised by her American stepfather. When the girl grew up, she herself married an American and started a family. Now Makarevich’s 45-year-old daughter lives in Philadelphia. She is a lawyer by training, knows several foreign languages, and at one time studied Japanese culture. Works for a pharmaceutical company.

When they met Andrey, the girl was married to his friend. The musician fell in love, but felt remorse towards his friend. After some time, he decided to talk with Alexei Romanov. Then it turned out that he had long stopped loving his wife and wanted to leave her for another.
