Childhood
Angelica was born in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on May 17, 1970. Her maiden name is Yalinskaya. The family was simple and the parents had nothing to do with art.
But Lika (that’s what mom and dad called her daughter) began to show talent from early childhood. Her parents always jokingly said that the baby started singing before she could walk. By the age of six, she knew by heart many songs that were popular at that time and organized home concerts. Then she imagined that she was singing not in an ordinary apartment in front of her parents, but on the stage of a huge hall in front of fans.
The brightest moment that remained in Angelica’s memory from childhood was when dad, in a luxurious light cream suit and polished shoes, led her little one to first grade. She had two ponytails tied with huge bows and a bouquet of flowers. The girl loved her dad very much and was proud of him. Therefore, when her parents divorced, this became the first tragedy in her life for Angelica. She was ten years old then.
And another moment that was etched in my childhood memory for the rest of my life was not very pleasant and was associated with the New Year holiday. Angelica remembered how mom and dad went to celebrate the New Year with friends, and left their little daughter at home with her grandmother. The girl wanted her parents to be nearby at this magical and joyful moment, she was very upset and cried almost the entire holiday. The singer remembers those feelings so well that she never, under any circumstances, now, being a mother three times, plans concerts for New Year’s Eve, but always celebrates the holiday only with her family.
Angelica studied well at school. Teachers always set her as an example and were even surprised how the girl managed to accomplish so much. Simultaneously with her studies, she developed her creative abilities. She took part in all competitions and concerts that were held at the educational institution, studied at a music school and in a theater group, and was one of the best in a dance group.
Then hard times came when dad left the family. Angelica stayed with her mother and four-year-old brother; she did not communicate with her father for a long time. They lived poorly, there were times when a girl’s entire wardrobe consisted of a school uniform and one pair of shoes.
And one winter she didn’t go to school because her only boots fell apart. She looked out the window as her classmates headed to class, and thought: “I’ll grow up, become a famous artist and buy myself the best boots!” Angelica was already delirious about the stage.
First creative experience
Angelica's creative debut took place at the age of fourteen. Everything really happened, like in a fairy tale. A woman approached her on the street and asked if the girl wanted to act in a movie? It turned out that the woman was an assistant director for casting, who was looking for new faces for the extras. Of course, Angelica didn’t want to act in films, but she just dreamed about it all her life. So the young girl ended up at the Belarusfilm film studio and acted as an extra.
After this, Angelica was offered to star in another film. She thought that there would be extras again. But when they gave the script and the girl began to read it, she realized: she was offered the main role. It was the film “Exam for the Director”, in which she starred with such famous actors of Russian cinema as Mikhail Gluzsky, Yuri Kazyuchits, Sergei Shkalikov.
After the film was released, Angelica became a movie star at school. Before that, the guys didn’t pay much attention to her, considering her an ugly duckling and a lanky sleeper. And now her life was completely turned upside down, she caught the admiring glances of boys and envious classmates. For the first time in her life, Angelica felt what it was like to be famous, she really liked it, and by the end of the tenth grade, the girl decided to enter the theater institute.
Motherhood and student life of Angelica Agurbash
After graduating from school, the girl applied to the theater institute in her native Belarus. Got in on the first try. But I couldn’t complete my studies for even a year, having received permission from the rector’s office to defer my studies and take a vacation after the first session.
Having passed the exam, Angelica literally immediately gives birth to her daughter Dashenka. Everyone around me thought that the young mother would take a long time to get into shape after pregnancy and devote herself to her daughter. To everyone’s surprise, a month later she finds herself among the participants in the first national beauty contest in Belarus. Lika becomes the first beauty and receives the title of Miss Belarus. Early marriage
Angelica was raised in such a way that from then on, when she began to understand her earthly destiny to be a wife and mother, she dreamed of only one thing: the first man would be the only husband for life, they would definitely live together for many years and die on the same day. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. The singer does not hide the fact that she is incredibly jealous of those married couples who succeeded. She believes that such family happiness is the greatest gift that fate can give.
Angelica's first husband was the Belarusian director and actor Igor Linev. They had quite a significant age difference, Igor is 12 years older than Angelica. She is a student at the Theater and Art Institute, he is already a fairly famous actor, he completed courses with Batalov himself.
They met at the dubbing of the film “The Director's Exam.” At first it was a purely friendly relationship. Igor became her senior friend, who offered to help her prepare for entering college. He invited her to the theater, to premiere performances. And then everything developed in such a way that friendship grew into love, Linev became the first man in Angelica’s life and her husband. She was seventeen years old at the time, and in order to have them signed, she had to bring a certificate to the registry office stating that the bride was pregnant.
Angelica has lived and continues to live all her life with an open heart and an open soul. In those moments when she makes some important life decisions, she relies on feelings. She is also very sincere and trusting. So it was then, at seventeen years old, she believed Igor Linev, in his words, in his feelings, and completely happy and inspired, she married him.
In March 1988, Angelica gave birth to a daughter, Dasha. When the baby was one and a half months old, the young mother went to college to receive child benefits. There I met my classmates and learned that they were preparing to take part in the Miss Belarus competition. This was the first time such a competition was held in the republic, and Angelica, like Cinderella, wanted to take a look at this ball at least out of the corner of her eye. And again a fairy tale happened in her life, she not only looked at the competition from afar, but took part in it and won the audience award and the main crown.
But very little time had passed since they lived together before her husband cheated on Angelica. For the young wife, the whole world suddenly turned from color to black and white. She accidentally came across his diary while cleaning the house, from where she learned everything.
This is now daughter Daria - an independent adult woman, she graduated from the University of Management with a degree in Show Business Management, and managed to work with rapper Timati. And then, in 1990, Dasha was still just a baby, her husband Igor asked for forgiveness, and Anzhelika at first did not understand what to do next and how to live with it. She couldn’t look at her husband, how he walked, how he ate, not to mention Igor touching her. When I told my mother everything, she advised her to pack her things and leave.
Angelica and Igor were living in a one-room apartment at the time, there were almost no things there, she took her daughter with her rompers and went to her mother. A few days later, having calmed down a little, I realized that I had left my passport with my husband. They went with their mother to get the document, as well as the gilded spoons given to Angelica on her 18th birthday by her beloved dad, and the crystal vase that she was given when the girl won a beauty contest.
When they rang the doorbell, a classmate from the theater institute, who was Igor’s mistress, opened it. Angelica realized that she had made the right decision and never once in her life did she regret leaving her first husband. The marriage, which lasted two years, ended.
Participation in the Eurovision Song Contest
In 2005, Angelica took part in the Eurovision Song Contest, her producer was Philip Kirkorov. She represented her native Belarus. I must say that the Minsk beauty made her rivals from Russia and Europe worry. She performed well, but she failed to take first place.

Creative activity
Angelica was left alone with an incomplete higher education and a tiny daughter. On top of that, hard times came when the Soviet Union collapsed, severe economic problems began, and getting at least some kind of job, more or less stable, was a great happiness.
Angelica was lucky: after the beauty contest, she received an offer to star in the comedy “I Don’t Understand,” which was based on the short stories by comedians Mikhail Zadornov and Semyon Altov. The masters of Russian humor starred in this movie for the first time as actors and kept company with a very young artist. After the release of the film, Angelica went on a tour around the country with the comedians, leaving her little daughter with her mother.
During this tour, the head of VIA “Verasy” Vasily Rainchik drew attention to Lika. He invited the gifted girl to join his team, and in the early 90s, Angelica became the soloist of the Verasa ensemble, in which she sang for five years. During the same period, she took part in various music competitions, where she certainly became a laureate:
- "Slavic Marketplace";
- “At the crossroads of Europe”;
- "Golden hit".
In 1991, Angelica won a new victory, winning the “Miss Photo of the USSR” competition, after which she received many contracts for filming as a model.
In 1995, Angelica left the Verasy ensemble and began a solo career and independent creative activity. She created the art club "Lika". With his help, charity events, concerts, art exhibitions were organized and many projects were implemented. And soon Lika’s debut album “Paper Moon” was released. The next two collections of her songs were not long in coming: in 1997 the disc “Night Without Sleep” was released, in 1999 - “For You”.
Angelica began to be invited to prestigious Russian show programs - “Song of the Year”, creative evenings of Igor Krutoy, “Ovation”. Soon she began to try herself as a television presenter in the programs “Breakfast with Lika” and “Song Premiere”. In 1999, she received a diploma from the Institute of Modern Knowledge with a degree in music teacher, after which she began producing.
Personal life of a talented woman
