Alexander Listyev was born on July 13, 1983. The boy became the second son of the popular TV presenter Vladislav Listyev. The first, also Vladislav, was born a year earlier and at three months lost his sight and hearing due to the negligence of doctors. Six years later, Alexander's older brother died.
